Hope Generation Skill 3: Celebrate Accomplishments

A sense of accomplishment is essential for helping people maintain a healthy sense of purpose as they work toward attaining success. After successfully completing a task, a sense of accomplishment benefits every aspect of a person's life, including mental, physical, social, emotional, and spiritual well-being, and instills hope and optimism.

A sense of accomplishment is essential for helping people maintain a healthy sense of purpose as they work toward attaining success. After celebrating the successful completion of a task, this sense of accomplishment benefits every aspect of a person’s life, including mental, physical, social, emotional, and spiritual well-being.

Positive psychology explains that achievement is more than attaining lofty goals and achieving great things. Accomplishment generates well-being and resilience when people make progress in completing a task, learning a new subject, or mastering a unique skill.

People who experience accomplishment in life share several characteristics:

· They tend to be optimists and have a positive outlook on life, especially in areas of interest.

· They are realists who are committed to achieving goals. This commitment means recognizing problems, setbacks, and barriers, not denying their existence.

· They understand that there are ways to move around roadblocks they encounter so they can find solutions.

· They persevere until they are successful. After celebrating a successful accomplishment, they set more goals and persist in overcoming challenges.
